The "Jester" Section Hiker is the premier podcast with the spotlight on section hikers!

The stories you will hear are about everyday people who, in addition to their everyday lives, make the commitment to hike long-distance trails where every section is a new beginning.

From National Scenic Trails to National Parks and all Trails in between, listen with your host, Julie “Jester” Gayheart, to hear what it means to be a section hiker and the adventure that awaits them section by section.

May 29, 2021

Jester's guest this week is Danielle Key. Danielle is the NC Trail Days Coordinator for the town of Elkin, NC. Jester is excited for you all to hear what's happening in Elkin, NC the weekend of June 3-6, 2021. Danielle shares with us how she got involved with NC Trail Days and goes over what we can participate in for the weekend. There are guided hikes, paddling, guest speakers, musicians, vendors, and a low country boil. There will also be opportunities for trail maintenance and trail clean ups.

If you want to hike with Jester, feel free to sign up for the Saturday June 5, 2021 guided hike from Grassy Creek Vineyards to Carter Falls. The hike leaves from the Vineyard at 10am. Also, stop by and say hello on Saturday afternoon in the vendor booth area in downtown Elkin, NC. Jester will be at the Pocket Trails booth with Josh Smith on Saturday afternoon from 1pm - 5pm.

Thanks for listening and Happy Section Hiking!
