The "Jester" Section Hiker is the premier podcast with the spotlight on section hikers!

The stories you will hear are about everyday people who, in addition to their everyday lives, make the commitment to hike long-distance trails where every section is a new beginning.

From National Scenic Trails to National Parks and all Trails in between, listen with your host, Julie “Jester” Gayheart, to hear what it means to be a section hiker and the adventure that awaits them section by section.

Jester's guest today is Cathy Tarr, Executive Director for the Fowler-O'Sullivan Foundation. The Fowler-O'Sullivan Foundation is near and dear to Jester's heart because it is partially named after Kris "Sherpa" Fowler. "Sherpa" went missing on the PCT in October 2017. Those of you who have been listening to the podcast for a while will know that Jester's little sister is close friends with Sally Guyton Fowler, Sherpa's Mom.

Tune in as Cathy Tarr shares with us her journey to becoming the Executive Director of the Foundation and the ongoing work they want to achieve with assisting families of missing hikers, hiker safety education, and how we can become involved as foundation volunteers.

Be safe out there! Thanks for listening and Happy Section Hiking!
