The "Jester" Section Hiker is the premier podcast with the spotlight on section hikers!

The stories you will hear are about everyday people who, in addition to their everyday lives, make the commitment to hike long-distance trails where every section is a new beginning.

From National Scenic Trails to National Parks and all Trails in between, listen with your host, Julie “Jester” Gayheart, to hear what it means to be a section hiker and the adventure that awaits them section by section.

Oct 30, 2021

Jester recently attended the ALDHA Gathering that was held in Abingdon, VA. The Appalachian Long Distance Hikers Association, as stated on their website, is "An off-trail family of hikers, dreamers, and friends of the trail, working to preserve, protect, and promote the long-distance hiking experience." As you will hear, Jester had a great weekend attending the Gathering. She also had the chance to chat again with Craig "Hawk" Mains.

Hawk was originally on the podcast with Jester back in October 2020, in episode #41.5. Hawk shares with us in this episode about his recent 6th completion of the Appalachian Trail, his experience at this year's ALDHA Gathering, and ends the episode with a heartfelt Thank You to the hiking community.

Thanks For Listening Everybody and Happy Section Hiking!
